Aamir khan’s keeps his promise with a Satyamev Jayate Bhawan!

May 6, 2012 saw Aamir Khan in a new light altogether. Satyamev Jayate revealed the most human and concerned side of Aamir’s personality.

satyamev jayateDuring the show, Aamir had requested his fans to send in donations in the name of Snehalya Foundation. It was promised that the money collected will be utilised for the betterment of under privileged people. People believed in what Aamir said and by the end of the show, the NGO managed to gather Rs 1.13 crores (approx.).

Unlike most people who make promises in the name of social work and rarely do it, Satyamev Jayate team has actually done it and that too in a very short span of time. From the funds collected, the NGO has managed to build a shelter home in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.

Aamir Khan This shelter home will be place of refuge for children, rape victims and helpless women. This shelter home is duly named after the talk show-Satyamev Jayate Bhawan. The inauguration of the show witnessed a very warm welcome to all the needy. The inaugural welcome had a very warm musical performance by music composer Ram Sampath. The face of the show, Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan made sure that he was present there, however much busy he was.

After a vacation with family, Aamir became a part of the show before resuming his work on Dhoom 3. The centre is equipped with all the basic facilities to provide food and shelter to women and children. The entire team of Satyamev Jayate and Snehalya Foundation have set an example for everyone that it is not impossible to work for the upliftment of the needy, if you have the right spirit. Aamir Khan’s Satyamev Jayate deserves a special mention in this.
