It’s raining TELLYcomers!
B-town is all abuzz with the new talent on the block! Gone are the days, when winning a beauty pageant was the only ticket to Bollywood for the aspirants outside the industry. Bollywood has finally made way for the small screen talent and how! In the recent past, some of the television actors foraying into Bollywood have pleasantly surprised the industry stalwarts and have even managed to make quite an impression and a promising future.
Let’s see some of the hot favorites:
This Chandigarh lad surely knows how to dream big and make them happen too. Ayushmann’s first stint with television dates back to 2004 when he won MTV Roadies Season 2. The luck smiled, and the young dreamer went on to anchor innumerable shows and established a strong foothold as the most sought after and dynamic host ever!
It was in the year 2012, when Ayushmann got an opportunity to make his dream debut on the big screen. When Vicky Donor happened, not just his acting was well received by both the audience and critics alike; but he lending his voice to “Paani da rang” left everyone spellbound.
He is definitely a hot favorite now with big banners knocking his doors! He is all set for his new release Rohan Sippy’s ‘Nautanki Saala’ followed by an untitled Yashraj film opposite Sonam Kapoor. Seems like, this sperm is on a roll ☺
Sushant Singh Rajput
The actor became a household name after impressing the audience as Manav in Pavitra Rishta. His debut film Kai Po Che is already making news and Sushant in the meanwhile is swamped with some very interesting offers. With Yashraj film opposite Parineeti Chopra and Aamir Khan’s Peekay, already in the kitty, Sushant is all set to make it big!
An Ekta Kapoor discovery, Prachi Desai won hearts on television with her sweet innocence, effortlessly, with her show Kasam se. Soon after her successful stint with the small screen, the actor took a big leap! Her debut film Rock On opposite Farhan Akhtar won many accolades, including the prestigious National Film Award and Prachi got rave reviews for her performance too. Movies like Bol Bachchan and Once Upon a Time in Mumbai added glory to her successful career so far. The actress will now be seen opposite John Abraham in I, Me aur Main. This girl next door is surely going places!
The eye candy Sujal Garewal from the show Kahin toh Hoga, Rajeev Khandelwal became a heart-throb overnight! He debuted in the year 2008 with the film Aamir which was simply a one man show. As a newcomer one would not really opt for some serious cinema, but, Rajeev managed to pull it off with great ease and panache. His acting skills were highly appreciated by one and all. Shaitaan and Table No. 21 also added to his success tremendously.
Television actors have always been a talented lot. Don’t forget, our King of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan and the Goddess of Acting, Vidya Balan also started off with the small medium only to make it BIG. ☺
