Controversies always play a hide and seek game with celebrities. At times you see them in good light and at times in bad light. But there are super stars on whom the good and bad light shines together giving out a flash of confusion.
Big B has always been associated with the living legend fame of Bollywood. As recognition of his talent and immense contribution, Amitabh Bachchan has been crowned as ‘India’s Prime Icon of 2012’. It is a great honour and matter of pride for a star to get a prime recognition at this age. But for the charismatic Big B, it is bound to be true and hold significance. Big B grabbed this award beating stern contenders-Sachin Tendulkar, Lata Mangeshkar, Aamir Khan, SRK, Narendra Modi, Ranbir Kapoor, Rahul Gandhi, A.R. Rahman and Nitish Kumar. Happy at receiving the award from Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma, Big B tweeted, “Honoured and humbled that Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma took time out to present me India’s Prime Icon of 2012. “Prime Icon??!! Gosh that is far too far fetched for me… and to have Sachin (Tendulkar), Lataji ( Lata Mangeshkar), Aamir, SRK, Modi (Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi), Nitish (Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar)… as contenders.”
But it’s not achievement alone that has kept Amitabh Bachchan occupied. He is being taken to task for a line said by him during an episode of KBC in 2011. He used the phrase “racha gaya” for the Holy Quran in an episode of Kaaun Banega Crorepati, which was aired on September 28, 2011. Mudassir Ullah Khan, a resident of Jhansi has objected the use of this phrase for the Holy Quran which came into existence through Allah’s mercy. He is of the view that it was not composed or created and considers usage of such phrase by Amitabh Bachchan disrespectful and malicious. Accusing Big B, the manager of Sony Entertainment Television and the main programmer sponsor of KBC, Mudassir Ullah Khan has filed a petition in court. The hearing is due on it.
Still we can say, Amitabh Bachchan is one star of lifetime who gets the good and bad light at the same time. This happens with the darling favourites of controversies and God!
